This wikispace has been created to provide a forum for a collaborative standards-alignment process across multiple schools. Initially, Edison, Gauer, Jefferson, and Orange Grove will be involved in the wikispace dialogue to determine how effective the process is. The results of this pilot will then be shared at a district's Leadership Team Meeting.
The philosophy behind this on-line conversational approach is to tap into the experiences and insights of teachers to determine how the district, as a whole, can best support the standards-alignment process at sites. It's a way to give a voice to all teachers so their insights about the instructional tools they have been given and their scholars' instructional needs can be heard.
The first dialogue is guided by five questions:
What is your approach toward identifying gaps in the standards-based ELA program?
What is your approach toward addressing gaps in the standards-based ELA program?
After you have identified and addressed gaps in the standards-based ELA program, how do you know your scholars' learning has been enhanced?
What support do you need from your coaches, site administrators, and/or the district staff to fully implement standards-aligned practices in your classroom?
What other questions would you like your colleagues to address regarding standards-alignment practices for ELA?
